Romeo “Tunny” Hottot comes from a long line of Shigawake fiddlers that goes back several generations. His father and uncles played and he began playing when he was nine years old. Tunny also passed his music on to his son. He’s played for countless dance sets in the hotel bars that once dotted the coast. He learned tunes from older local players and has picked up many more from recordings of Cape Breton fiddlers. Glenn Patterson (guitar) met Tunny in 2011 and he always drops by to play a few tunes with Tunny at home when he’s passing through Shigawake.
